This is what I call my real-time-gab session, no pre-planned thoughts
or scripts just real-time comments being typed into an ascii document,
sort of like what we would chat about if we were face to face, er,uh,
sort of. Anyway let's start the ball rolling with a WHERE ARE YOU NOW
section....
The past 12 months have been very ______________________ (fill in the
blank as long as it's something negative). Seriously, with all the legal
hassles I've gone through, system crashes, data losses, financial
stress, etc, etc, it's enough to make ya go nuts!! Actually, what has
happened is the dozens of users who have registered probably havn't
received anything from me other than a thank you. No notice of new
titles coming out, no newsletter, no nothing! Well, if I'm going to
stay in the Atari market for a while longer this has to change!! The
problem is, I like to program once in a while so the other chores of
trying to run a business like answering mail, processing orders, etc,
get side tracked. I've decided to force myself to make time for these
other tasks, so you WILL be seeing more of me online, answering mail
quicker, sending out mailings, etc, in a timely matter from now on.
THE INTERNET!!
One of the ways I plan to be more accessable is by getting on-line via
the internet more often. We now have our own WORLD WIDE WEB PAGE where
you can hook up and read the latest about MUNSIE software, download our
latest releases and other fun things. Access our page via your
favorite broswer (GENIE, DELPHI users may want to try LYNX) by
linking up with this page:
Our new EMAIL address is DMUNSIE@DELPHI.COM please use this for any
mail messages. (No newsletters or lengthy text please..)
MUNSIE ON THE JAG? (well, nothing to speak of yet...)
Several users have asked if I will ever be involved with a JAG project.
At the moment several groups have asked if I wanted to join their team,
I have said no in the past because I was too involved doing other things.
Frankly at this point there is 1 particular group that I would like to
work with but things are still up in the air for now. I can state that
I WILL be sending a few things out to Atari in the near future because
I would like to code a few things on the Jag but nothing like all these
3D things coming out for it. I want to tackle a whole different genre
of games on the Jag!! More at a later date....
WHAT'S NEXT?......CHOPLIFTER 95!!
My next release WILL be my long awaited Choplifter conversion. I'm
happy to report that at this in the game it WILL indeed be compatible
with ALL Atari computers. It may require a 2 meg machine though. This
game looks VERY NICE, I'm sure alot of our previous registered users
will enjoy this one.
PLAYED WITH A SEGA SATURN......
Tried this puppy out recently for about a whole week. Played DAYTONA
and VIRTUA FIGHTER on it. Selling here in Texas for $399.99. Much lower
than I thought it would come out at. Initial review is it seems like a
very nice machine, DAYTONA seems to be running at 30 frames a sec with
slow down to 20 and 15 frames a second when heavily texture mapped.
Not bad, better than I thought it would be, not near as good as the
arcade version, but yes it IS the best home racer to date that I
have seen. (I've seen all the 3DO stuff as well..) I have no idea
about RIDGE RACER on the Playstation yet....
Can the JAG/CD combination at $299.99 play a better driving game than
DAYTONA? Several developers say 100% yes!! I for one love driving games
and I can only wish for a proper CHECKERED FLAG III on CD. I don't
mind the filled polygons and stuff, just bump up the frame rate to 30
frames per sec on it please!! OR go with complete texture mapped back
grounds and slow the frame rate down to a solid 20 frames per second.
Well, that's all for now, I've just had the urge to go code a video
newsletter and put it up for downloading on GENIE and DELPHI. l8r...
