Current improvements to E-Copy 1.5 dated 22.1.93
This version has been completely re-written and improved in every way,
and has several useful functions added.
- The main dialog is now placed in a true GEM window
- The menu is placed in the main dialog window
- Most other dialogs are placed in modal dialog boxes
- New buffer concept: raeding and writing can now be carried out
independant of each other.
- Diskettes that have been read in can be saved as an image file that
can be re-loaded at a later time.
- The relevant formatting options can be made the defaults for the
standard buttons
- E-copy can work in the background
- Individual fomats can be simply entered by hand
- An external bootsector can be re-loaded whilst working with the program
- "Multi" can be used from the main dialog to repeatedly perform write,
format and delete operations.
- During operation, E-Copy itself recognizes the 15 most widespread
bootsector virusses, so that 80-90% of all virusses will be intercepted.

Current improvements to E-Copy 1.03 dated 02.12.92
- Modifications to work with the new Falcon 030
- Resource files improved
- On the TT (with fast ram) when the program is used as an accessory,
the program header bits will not be examined to see whether ST or TT ram
ought to be allocated. Since except for DMA operations (Floppy
operations) TT ram cannot be used without causing a crash. For these
calculations, this version now uses the new GEMDOS function Mxalloc (),
to always allocate the correct type of ram.
- Track 0 errors can be ignored. However, you should not make this a
defualt option.
- Write-protection will now also be recognized when copying without
formatting.

Current improvements to E-Copy 1.02 dated 23.09.92
- All MSDOS formats ((DD in particular) are now truely MSDOS compatible!
- Through the removal of the above errors it is not also possible to
format compatible diskettes with "Additional headers". However, this has
not yet been adequately tested to ensure that all of the old config-
urations have been taken care of.
I'd be grateful to learn of your experiences.
- Write-protection is now also recognized when "Erase" is selected.

Current improvements to E-Copy 1.01 dated 02.09.92
- During formatting, bad sectors will be marked in the FAT.
- It is no longer necessary to re-name the color resource file, but it is
necessary for both (ECOPY.RSC and ECOPYCOL.RSC) to be copied into the
E-Copy folder. E-Copy will then load the correct file according to the
resolution selected.
- Analyse box - Page 39:
The button "Re-start" has been renamed "Next" but still has the same
function.
- In the manual on page 28, Chapet 8.6.3 the pin assignment for the
individual bits, has inadvertantly been swapped. The correct one is:
Bit 6 corresponds to Pin 15
Bit 7 corresponds to Pin 14

Current improvements to E-Copy 1.0 dated 10.08.92
- The program has now been modified so that it will now also run in TT ram.
All memory requests will now be satisifed from ST ram. Thus in the file
ECOPY.PRG
Offset 0x19 => 0x03 (with fastload) - default
or 0x02 (without fastload)
- EDs with a 16-bit FAT are now supported, so that a cluster size of one
sector and thus MSDOS compatibility is provided.
- Disk info improvement:
A new option in the disk info box on page 33 has been added:
FAT type: This will show whether the disk contains a 16-bit or 12-bit FAT.
In order to use diskettes with 16-bit FAT (MSDOS - EDs) with an ATARI
you should use EDPATCH.PRG.
On page 34 in the table for "Media byte", the value of $F0 will also be
used for 36 sectors, 80 tracks and 2 sides.
On page 36, both entries "Reserved sectors" and "Hidden sectors" have
been removed.
- For EDs, the auto steprate is set to 12ms - page 11:
Normal settings: ________________________________
| Sectors per track | Steprate |
|-------------------+----------|
| 1 - 11 | 3ms |
| 12 - 22 | 6ms |
| 23 - 40 | 12ms |
