GRANDAD AND THE QUEST
FOR THE HOLY VEST
BY IAN SCOTT
1Mb ram required
Reviewed by Darran Taplin
This game is in fact shareware, you
get the full version on the disk, but
you only have access to the first
level.
You are in control of Grandad, he
being a stupid, forgetful bloke has
lost his vest and it's your job to find
it.
Upon loading the disk, you are greeted
with a nice picture of Grandad and a
scrolling textline giving you informat-
ion about how to register - it costs 5
pounds. You then press space and you
are greeted with Grandad sitting in his
wheelchair. You can control him either
using cursor keys or the joystick.
Pressing the spacebar brings up various
options, such as save game, pick up,
use, etc. The action takes place in
Grandad's house and garden.
Once you get to the end of the first
level you will be asked for a code,
this code can be obtained by register-
ing with the author.
The graphics are excellent and the
sound is functional. Also, the game has
a great sense of humour (try reading
the books).
This is one of the best games I have
played, well worth the registration.
Overall, the rating is 9 out of 10.
