  14. It was a beautiful Friday morning in 
  15. early 1992, the sun was shining and the 
  16. birds were chirping fine melody's which 
  17. made Jason Donovan sound like a drunken
  18. Warthog on heat. The mood was disturbed 
  19. by the clatter of the letterbox to 
  20. which I dropped the wife's shaving 
  21. brush and rushed to the door.

  23. Upon completing the journey, I reached 
  24. the door to be greeted by a small soggy 
  25. Jiffy Bag. I pounced upon on and tore 
  26. it open with a fast beating heart and 
  27. stuck a calmmy mitt inside and pulled 
  28. out this game entitled 'Drop it on em'.

  30. I rushed past the wife who was cutting 
  31. her toe nails with the chainsaw and 
  32. stuffed the clammy disk into my STE and 
  33. switched on, well, from that moment I 
  34. was completely hooked on it.
  35.  
  36. Drop it on em, is a type of Shoot Em Up 
  37. written in STOS, from pressing SPACE 
  38. from the title screen which shows a 
  39. fancy pattern and plays a Stos Tracker 
  40. song, you are given a one or two player 
  41. option and even a DEMO option.
  42.  
  43. The game screen consists of a row of 
  44. buildings and a balloon which moves 
  45. across the screen then moves down a bit 
  46. and moves across again until it reaches 
  47. the bottom of the screen.
  48.  
  49. The object of the game is simple. To 
  50. drop bombs on the building's and blow 
  51. them up, as the balloon moves, it drops 
  52. lower and closer to the buildings and 
  53. if it gets too low it crashes into any 
  54. existing building's and the game is 
  55. over, to clear each level you must 
  56. destroy each building before you get 
  57. too close, when the screen is clear the 
  58. balloon lands and you get a bonus, the 
  59. quicker you clear the screen, the more 
  60. bonus points you get.

  62. The game has limited controls, both 
  63. mouse buttons are used to drop the 
  64. bombs and thats it. When each level is 
  65. completed you are greeted others which
  66. has more and more buildings to destroy, 
  67. and each time they get higher. After 
  68. completing about 20 levels, the game 
  69. starts again but the balloon moves 
  70. faster making hitting the buildings 
  71. harder.

  73. With a two player game you get two 
  74. balloons on the screen, player one 
  75. fires his bombs with the left mouse 
  76. button while player two uses the 
  77. joystick fire button. It's not always a 
  78. balloon you control though, sometimes 
  79. you get a plane or a spaceship.

  82. Even though the game is simple and the 
  83. graphics are a wee bit naff, this is a 
  84. great game which will be stuck in your 
  85. collection for a long time.

  92. This is my first attempt at writing a 
  93. review and I hope you can understand 
  94. what I'm on about, but I promise that 
  95. future attempts will be better.
