  12. Most  Computer  Shops  in  Germany have
  13. become   their   Demo-machines  of  the
  14. FALCON 030.  I have tested this machine
  15. many  times  in  our local  shop called
  16. "Witte".   I  only can  say  that  this
  17. machine is simply great. ATARI supplied
  18. the  shops  with  the normal version of
  19. it  (4 MB RAM and 65 MB Hard Disc)  but
  20. now it  comes:  they also  have  a half
  21. Giga-Bytes  Floptical (Magnetoptisches-
  22. Laufwerk,  to  hard to translate..)  to
  23. show   cool   sound   and   Gfx  Demos.
  24. And   something   more  cool:   2  nice
  25. Yamaha  boxes  to  enjoy the  fantastic
  26. sound.
  27. In  Germany  the FALCON will be buyable
  28. for normal people in February or  March
  29. 93.It will cost 2300 DM (cheap I think,
  30. 'cause  with 4 MB and 65 MB Hard Disc).
  31. But  hope  that  ATARI  will  not  sell
  32. cheaper versions (with only one meg and
  33. no Hard Disk)because it's totally shit!
  34. All   developers  have  received  their
  35. FALCON'S,   too.  There  many  Programs
  36. in production. I have seen a  demo of a
  37. very   good  Sound-PRG   by   TRADE IT.
  38. It plays a 2 minutes  tune with 50 kHz.
  39. This   tune  is  around   50 MB  long!!
  40. But  with  the half  giga-meg Floptical
  41. there's no problem.

  43. The FALCON is not so compatible  to the
  44. ST as  ATARI says.  It  is  clear  that
  45. PRG's  with the  border-trick and sync-
  46. scolling  are not  runnig but also many
  47. other  Games are  not  running  (I have
  48. tested  Epic, good  old Elite, Fire and
  49. Ice,  Bat 2 and some more..,  of course
  50. the orginals!) no  one  of  this  games
  51. were running.  Most of the professional
  52. Prg's  are  running (I  tested Calamus,
  53. Cubase and some more) and I  think  all
  54. other will run too.
