  14. What?

  16. In many ways the party will be like so many other parties with a demo
  17. competition, intro competition, music competition and graphics competition
  18. but here are just a few of the things you will be missing if you don't come
  19. to the party (which is an incredible act of unselfishness, letting someone
  20. come in your place..):

  22.         - Music (you know the thing people sometimes create with 'trackers').
  23.           Live techno performance!
  24.  
  25.         - Some of the best groups on the scene!
  26.  
  27.         - The chance to finally see which computer is the best in COMBINED 
  28.           competitions! (Amiga, Atari, PC) See below for more information.

  30.         - Fabulous prizes (details will be announced later)!

  32.         - Very nice(?) people from all over the world!

  46. There will be even more activities but you'll find out more about them later
  47. (at the party place or something).

  52. The party will start on the 28th of December and continue on till the 30th. 
  53. The doors will open at 12:00 pm on the 28th and close at 16:00 pm on the 30th.

  58. The party will be held in a large hall right in the center of Helsinki, 
  59. Finland. The address is Perhonkatu 6. This is also right beside other popular 
  60. party/dance places in Helsinki. It is near the central bus station and you can 
  61. get there with the underground by traveling to 'Kamppi'. You have to take the 
  62. underground going to 'Ruoholahti'. Kamppi is one stop away from the central 
  63. railway station. There is a general map of the area right at the Kamppi 
  64. underground station. Perhonkatu is marked there. If you forsee any major 
  65. problems then feel free to contact us!

  70. The main organizers consist of people from Aggression, Extream, Future Crew
  71. and some other helpful guys.

  74. How?

  76. All you have to do is send a Cheque for 100 Finnish marks payable to
  77. Kristoffer Lawson. Remember that if you are paying for many people at the
  78. same time list everyone's names! Make sure it's an international or
  79. eurocheque if you're outside Finland. This is a kind of guarantee you are
  80. coming so that we can securely fit everyone in. The cheque will be given back
  81. to you at the door and there you should pay 100 Finnish marks in _cash_.
  82. This is just because cashing in cheques is very expensive in Finland, ie. it
  83. is cheaper for YOU this way. If you wish to pay in some other way please
  84. contact us. You can also pay 125 Finnish marks at the door but we can't
  85. guarantee you will get in. That is, if the whole place is full, it is worth
  86. booking a place beforehand. The fee for females is 20 Finnish marks.

  88. All this will entitle fun from thursday to saturday, a possibility to vote in 
  89. the competitions, free goodies and the ticket (badge, wrist band etc.) to go 
  90. and come as you please through the party place doors. Strong alcohol drinks 
  91. are _not_ allowed at the party place. They will be confiscated :->

  93. We will also be organizing a NEW YEAR'S PARTY right after Aggressive II. We 
  94. will arrange some form of lodgings for people who want to participate in this 
  95. party. Please inform us of your interest in the new year's party beforehand so 
  96. that lodgings can be taken care of easily.

  99. COMPETITIONS:
  100.  
  101. The competitions will be held on friday-saturday night and voting will happen 
  102. shortly after. The results will be announced at the party place as soon as all 
  103. votes have been counted. The results will also be uploaded to FalconBot on the 
  104. IRC channel #atari and can also be obtained by sending email (see below for 
  105. the address). Exact prizes will be revealed later.

  107.                     - General Intro/Demo Competition Rules -
  108.  
  109.     Each entry will be shown once.
  110.  
  111.     Atari entries will be shown on a Falcon030 with 4 Mb RAM or on an Atari STe
  112.     with 2 Mb RAM (no harddrive).
  113.  
  114.     Amiga demos will be shown on an Amiga 1200 with 2+2 Mb RAM.
  115.  
  116.     PC demos will be shown on a 486 DX2/66, 4 Mb RAM.
  117.     Only the Gravis Ultrasound will be supported (1 Mb dram).

  119. All entries will be shown in the same competition, ie. there will not be
  120. a separate Amiga, Atari or PC competition!

  122. The DEMOS need not be released at the party but they should be released as
  123. soon as possible after it because the prizes will be given out only _after_
  124. the product has been released! Intros must be released at the party.
  125. Groups can attend with several demos.

  130.     ...must set correct screen resolution itself
  131.     ...are executed from Desktop
  132.     ...must return to Desktop correctly (except 4kb intro competition)

  145.      - Maximum total size of the files is 8388608 bytes (8 Mb)
  146.      - The demo MUST return to the operating system correctly
  147.      - The demo has to be hard-disk installable

  149.                         - 128 Kb Intro Competition -

  151. The specifications for each machine are the same as above.

  153.     - Only one file allowed, maximum file size is 131072 bytes
  154.     - The intro MUST return to the operating system correctly
  155.     - Intro must be released at the party
  156.     - Several entries per group are allowed

  158.                          - 4 Kb Intro Competition -

  160.     - Only one file allowed, maximum file size is 4096 bytes
  161.     - The intro does not have to return to operating system
  162.     - Music/Sound is not allowed
  163.     - Intro must be released at the party
  164.     - One entry per coder

  166.                             - Music Competition -

  168. Any normal format is allowed. This includes MOD, S3M, XM, ULT, DTM  etc. When 
  169. entering your production specify which player you would like your tune to be 
  170. played on. If you do not want to use any of the following players then provide 
  171. us with a player of your choice. This may not be a group's private player or 
  172. anything like that. It must be a normal player anyone can receive from FTP 
  173. sites etc. You may pick a player from the following list: Cubic Player, 
  174. Capamod, Octalyser (STe), Protracker (Amiga), Griff's player, Digital Player, 
  175. Bobtracker and Megaplayer. The maximum amount of channels is eight. One entry 
  176. per composer.

  178.                            - Graphics Competition -
  179.  
  180. The resolution may be anything up to 640x480. Full true color pictures are 
  181. allowed (24 bit) and all popular formats will be supported. The pictures will 
  182. be shown with QPEG or some other good viewer. Copies are not
  183. allowed! (if we spot them). One entry per artist.
