  1. Extra Information about the Atari ST version of Mega-Traveller 1

  4. Running on a 512K machine:
  5. -------------------------

  7. If you only have a 512K machine (e.g. Atari 520STFM) then you must autoboot
  8. the program, since there is not enough memory to run it once GEM as
  9. initialised itself.  To Autoboot just put disk A into drive A and reset the
  10. computer.

  13. Backing up the disks:
  14. --------------------

  16. To make a backup of the game disks use the supplied diskcopy program.  Please
  17. make sure that you write protect the original disks first!

  20. Hard Disk installation:
  21. ----------------------

  23. To install onto hard disk:
  24.  - Create a folder on your hard disk
  25.  - Copy all the files from the 2 disks into this folder
  26.  - Double click on TRAV.PRG to play the game.
  27. You can put the original disks away in a safe place since they will not be
  28. needed again.

  31. External Disk drives:

  34. If you have an external disk drive then you can put disk B into the 2nd drive
  35. and the program will automatically find it and you will nto have to swap
  36. disks.

  39. Single sided internal drive, double sided external drive:

  42. If you have a single sided internal drive, and an external drive then you
  43. may use the supplied BBOOT.TOS program.  To use this:
  44.   - Format a single sided disk in drive A
  45.   - Execute BBOOT.TOS and put the single sided disk in drive A
  46. To AutoBoot MegaTraveller, put the new disk in drive A and MegaTraveller
  47. disk A into drive B and reset the computer.  If you get some bombs just press
  48. the reset button again.

  51. Single Sided drives only:

  54. You will have to return the disks to the address given in the manual.  You will
  55. then be sent 3 single sided disks instead of the 2 double sided ones.  When
  56. playing the game you will have to do quite a lot of disk swapping!  I would
  57. really recommend that it is about time that you bought a double sided disk
  58. drive.

  64. The Atari ST and Amiga versions of MegaTraveller were converted and enhanced
