  19.   This is a short text file I put together for the purpose of quick access
  20.   to codes, addon levels, and LMP demos.  There are some other premium
  21.   text files and helpful things to make your DOOMing experience more 
  22.   exciting which are listed below!

  35.                                 Game Palace bbs

  37.   Game Palace started on 04/07/94 as a small bbs for users to obtain the
  38.   latest patches and upgrades available for PC Games.  I personally got
  39.   tired of calling long distance to get the latest patch or upgrade and
  40.   figured a bbs would help.  I have never ran a bbs prior to this and I
  41.   just got my first modem in December of 1993.  (Yes, I'm a newbie!) <g>
  42.  
  43.   As a DOOM addict, I figured why not cater to this awesome game.  There
  44.   were alot files out and more coming!  I started by adding one file area
  45.   for DOOM on the board, but that wasn't enough.  I now have 19 file areas
  46.   devoted to DOOM and will probably have to add more in the future.
  47.   I gained users from all over the U.S., Canada, Japan, Europe, England, etc.
  48.   In 2 months!  The demand for DOOM had increased so much, I had to delete
  49.   alot of other files to make room on my hard drive.
  50.   Unfortunately, I only have one computer so I don't get to play as much
  51.   as I would like to.

  53.   Right now as of this writing, I have well over 1,000 WADS and 230+ megs of
  54.   DOOM files online.  Since I get so many new DOOM files daily, I created a 
  55.   "DOOMlist" which contains all the DOOM files on Game Palace bbs.  This
  56.   is updated nightly!  It is called "DOOMLIST.ZIP"
  57.   
  58.   There is also 9 different conferences devoted to DOOM!  Use them for help,
  59.   reviewing levels, editing levels, modem connections, coolest frags,
  60.   DOOM stories, etc., etc.!

  86.   There are certain keys you can use to gain access to some wonderful 
  87.   things in DOOM.  Type these while playing the game.  Here they are:

  89.   IDDQD                        Degreelessness mode (Invincible)
  90.   IDKFA                        Very Happy Ammo (Full stock of weapons &
  91.                                                 ammo)
  92.   IDBEHOLD   (follow it by S, V, I, R, A, L)
  93.        S----Strength (Beserk mode)
  94.        V----Invunerability
  95.        I----Partial Invicibility
  96.        R----Radiation Suit
  97.        A----Auto Map
  98.        L----Light Amplifiers

  100.  IDCHOPPERS                    Gives you the Chainsaw
  101.  IDCLEV                        Warp (followed by Episode and Level)
  102.  IDDT                          Map Mode (Enter it while viewing map)
  103.  IDMYPOS                       X, Y Coordinates
  104.  IDSPISPOPD                    No clipping (Walk through walls)

  107.                                 Command Lines
  108.  
  109.  There are command lines within DOOM that can be used when intially 
  110.  running the game.  For more information on exactly what all of 
  111.  these lines mean, pick up "The 'Official' DOOM FAQ" by Hank Leukart.

  113.  At the DOOM directory type:   "DOOM -devparm <parameter>
  114.  These can be several followed by eachother for various effects such
  115.  as warping, recording a demo, respawning monsters, or taking .PCX
  116.  screenshots.

  118.  -config <filename>          Reads alternate configuration file
  119.  -deathmatch                 Starts NetDoom in Deathmatch mode
  120.  -debugfile <parameter>      Dumps debugging into debug<parm>.txt
  121.  -devparm                    Developers mode
  122.  -episode <episode>          Starts on Episode 1,2, or 3
  123.  -file <name.wad>            Allows usage of PWAD
  124.  -left                       Sets up a network terminal for the "left view"
  125.  -loadgame <game number>     Starts from save game # 0-5
  126.  -net <players>              Starts NetDoom with 1-4 players     
  127.  -noblit                     Speeds up game on some systems
  128.  -nodraw                     Speeds up game on some systems
  129.  -nojoy                      Does not use joystick
  130.  -nomonsters                 Starts games without monsters
  131.  -nomouse                    Does not use mouse
  132.  -nomusic                    No background music
  133.  -nosfx                      No sound effects
  134.  -nosound                    No sound at all
  135.  -playdemo <name w/o .lmp>   Playback a recorded demo
  136.  -record <name w/o .lmp>     Record a demo til you die or finish
  137.  -recordfrom <0-5><demo name>Records from a saved game 
  138.  -respawn                    Cause enemies to respawn in Non-Nightmare game
  139.  -right                      Sets up NetDoom terminal for "right view"
  140.  -skill <skill level>        Starts on skill level 1-5 
  141.  -timedemo <name w/o .lmp>   Caculates screen redraw times in demo
  142.  -wart <episode> <level>     Adds an external PWAD file to filelist
  143.  -warp <episode> <levle>     Warp to any Episode and Level
  144.  
  145.  To take a screen shot (.PCX) from DOOM, type: DOOM -devparm
  146.  Every time you hit F1, a .pcx will be placed in your DOOM directory
  147.  of the shot you took.  It should also say "screen shot" in the upper
  148.  left hand corner.

  150.                           PWADS (Addon external levels)
  151.  
  152.  PWADS are external levels made by people with level editors.  These
  153.  PWADS ("Patch" WADS) are inserted with the command line "-file" and
  154.  allow you to play a new level!  For complete information on PWADS,
  155.  check out "The 'official' DOOM FAQ" by Hank Leukart or "DOOMWAD"
  156.  by Steve Huskisson.  "DOOMWAD" is available at Game Palace BBS.

  160.  To run a PWAD file, make sure the new level is in your DOOM directory 
  161.  and from there type:
  162.  
  163.  "DOOM -file <xxxx.wad>"        
  164.  
  165.  Where the xxxx is, substitute with the name of the PWAD, and include
  166.  the .WAD extension.
  167.  An example would be:  "DOOM -file cool.wad"
  168.  
  169.  You can combine PWADS in one line.
  170.  There are also sound files on PWADS that are ran the same way.

  172.                                 LMP (Demos)
  173.  
  174.  An .lmp file is a recording of a game of DOOM, either single player or
  175.  a deathmatch game.  You can even make a recording of your favorite
  176.  PWAD file.  These are fun to sit back and watch, as your friends dueled
  177.  on Deathmatch, or if you need to know where secret rooms are!

  179.  To record a demo type at the DOOM directory:

  181.  DOOM -devparm -record <demo name w/o .lmp>
  182.  
  183.  Do not include the .lmp.
  184.  
  185.  To record your favorite PWAD type at the DOOM directory:

  187.  DOOM -file <pwad.wad> -devparm -record <demo name w/o .lmp>

  189.  To play back the demo type at the DOOM directory:
