  36. Q. What is it?
  37. A. Printer's Apprentice is a font management utility for your Windows 
  38.    PC. It helps you manage all your TrueType and Adobe Type 1 fonts 
  39.    by printing inventory sheets (4 flavors!), ANSI charts, keyboard 
  40.    layouts, and specimen sheets. It was noted as the *BEST* Windows 
  41.    font utility by PC Magazine (10/27/92) and features one of the 
  42.    sharpest interfaces around.

  44. Q. What is new in version 5.9?
  45. A. Version 5.9 is mainly a cosmetic update. A few specimen sheets
  46.    have been fine tuned for the DeskJet printers (fine tuned yet
  47.    again...) We have also been accepted into the Association of 
  48.    Shareware Publishers, so new material had to be added to the 
  49.    documentation.

  51. Q. How do I install this program real quick?
  52. A. Unzip the PA59.ZIP to a new diskette or directory and run
  53.    INSTALL.EXE. This will decompress the files and copy them
  54.    to the right places on your hard drive.

  56. Q. How does the program modify your system?
  57. A. The Printer's Apprentice setup program will copy several files
  58.    to your computer.

  83.    The installation program will prompt you before writing over
  84.    files that already exist!

  86. Q. What happens if I get a "Out of Date" error after installing the
  87.    software??
  88. A. Every attempt has been made to distribute the latest versions of
  89.    the VBX & DLL support files. However, making sure the correct version
  90.    is on your machine can be a pain. Some shareware (and commercial!!)
  91.    vendors do not use reliable SETUP.EXE and INSTALL.EXE programs. These
  92.    programs may overwrite a support file or place the wrong date stamp
  93.    on a copied file. Thus you will receive a "out of date" error when
  94.    you try to run Printer's Apprentice. If you get this error, the fix
  95.    is easy.

  97.         1) Search your ENTIRE hard drive for the offending file. 2)
  98.         Delete ALL copies of this file. You may be surprised at how many
  99.         duplicate VBX files you have creeping around on your hard drive.
  100.         3) Restart Windows. 4) Reinstall Printer's Apprentice. This
  101.         should fix everything for you.

  103. Q. I noticed this version uses different VBX files? Can I delete VBX
  104.    files from your old versions that are no longer used??
  105. A. I have really, really tried to reduce the number of third-party add
  106.    on files used by Printer's Apprentice. Listed below are VBX's that
  107.    where used by prior (5.8 & below) version. You can delete them from
  108.    your Windows & System directories...

  114.    NOTE: These files may be used by other shareware programs on your
  115.    computer. Check your documentation for more information.

  117. Q. How do I remove the program if I need more space on my machine?
  118. A. There is a file named INSTALL.LOG located in the PA directory. This
  119.    lists out *every* file and program manager group added to your system.
  120.    Note: Some other vendors may use some VBX files on your system.
  121.    THREED.VBX is a VERY popular file!!

  123. Q. What happened to the documentation file?
  124. A. Everything has been placed in a Windows help file. Just click
  125.    the Help menu item or the question mark icons...

  128. A. We can only take orders with personal checks. Do *NOT* send cash,
  129.    even if you are in another country. For foreign orders, please use

  148. Q. What is the upgrade policy?
  149. A. When you register, I will send you a code and a certificate. Upon
  150.    release of major upgrades, I will notify you with a post card. The
  151.    cost of duplication and mailing has gotten out of hand, so upgrades
  152.    will cost a nominal $5 if you need a new diskette. Or you can wait to
  153.    find the program on a local BBS. The codeword will always work for
  154.    future editions.

  157. A. Yes! I am always open to suggestions! This software is made for
  158.    anyone who cares about type. Designers, DTPers, layout artists,
  159.    print shops, publishers, etc, this sofware is for you. If you have
