BOOT.SYS VENDOR.DOC Version 2.10
BOOT.SYS(tm) and the accompanying programs and documentation are
Copyright (c) 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994 Hans Salvisberg
All rights reserved
This file lists permissions and restrictions for distributing the
*shareware* version of BOOT.SYS. *Registered* versions of
BOOT.SYS are licensed to an individual or organization and may
not be passed on, distributed, or made available to any third
party under any circumstances.
Anyone distributing BOOT.SYS must INCLUDE ALL FILES IN UNMODIFIED
FORM as listed in the READ.ME file, preferably in the original
BOOTnnn.ZIP file.
All INDIVIDUALS are permitted and encouraged to give copies of
BOOT.SYS to friends, associates, and co-workers (as long as no
fee is charged), and to upload it to their favorite BBS.
Permission to distribute the BOOT.SYS package is not
transferable, assignable, saleable, or franchisable. Each vendor
wishing to distribute the package must independently satisfy the
terms of this limited distribution license. All rights not
expressly granted here are reserved to Hans Salvisberg.
All permissions herein are granted with the understanding that
- WE MAY WITHDRAW YOUR PERMISSION at any time for any reason,
by notifying you in writing,
- YOU DO NOT MISREPRESENT BOOT.SYS as free or public domain
software or claim it as your own work, and
- YOU DO NOT CHEAT our mutual customers into thinking they're
paying you for the right to use BOOT.SYS.
BBSes and Electronic Communications Services may post BOOT.SYS
for downloading by their users. If there is a per-file or per-
volume charge, see "disk vendors."
DISK VENDORS who are Approved Vendors of the Association of
Shareware Professionals and NON-PROFIT USER GROUPS may include
BOOT.SYS in their libraries and distribute evaluation copies for
their normal disk fees, identifying them as shareware (with a
suitable definition).
DISK VENDORS who are not members of the ASP must obtain our writ-
ten permission before distributing BOOT.SYS. Please send us your
standard promotional materials for evaluation.
BOOT.SYS may be included on CD-ROMs provided the CD-ROM is
updated on a regular, published schedule, at least twice a year,
and you qualify for distributing BOOT.SYS (see DISK VENDORS
above).
ALL OTHERS, including anyone interested in bundling either share-
ware or registered versions of BOOT.SYS with hardware, software,
or services must obtain our permission and a written license
before distributing BOOT.SYS.
IF YOU WRITE ABOUT BOOT.SYS, please contact us to make sure you
have the latest and greatest version. We would appreciate
getting a copy of any reviews, articles, catalog descriptions,
or other information you print or distribute. Thank you for your
support for BOOT.SYS and the shareware marketing concept.
