  27. Cyberstreet is a demonstration program written in a few days using
  28. the RenderWare interactive 3D API. 
  29.  
  30. Absolute minimum configuration:     486/25 ISA with 8Mb.
  31. Recommended minimum configuration:  486/50 VLB with 8Mb.
  32. Super turbo nutter configuration:   Pentium/90 PCI with 16Mb.

  34. CyberStreet Installation
  35. ------------------------

  37. First copy the zip file 'rwcyber.zip' from the distribution media to an
  38. empty directory on your harddrive.  From within that directory to extract the
  39. demonstration from the zip file type
  40.  
  41.         pkunzip -d rwcyber.zip
  42.  
  43. now copy the file 'wavemix.ini' into your windows directory. For example,
  44.  
  45.         copy wavemix.ini c:\windows
  46.  
  47. If you do not do this, any sound produced may be distorted or 'echoey'.
  48.  
  49. To run the program, click on 'Run' in the File menu of the Program Manager,
  50. find rwcyber.exe using the browse facility and click on 'Ok'.

  52. The Game
  53. --------
  54.  
  55. In this game demonstration your mission is to destroy as many rats as
  56. possible. To do this you must move around the street, and point your
  57. gun so as a rat is within your sights, then fire the gun and destroy
  58. the rat. You must destroy the rats as quickly as you can. When there are no
  59. rats left the game is complete. The rats enter the game at a fixed speed,
  60. so speed is of the essence.

  62. The Application Controls
  63. ------------------------

  65. RWCYBER.EXE is controlled using the keyboard, the mouse and the
  66. menus. The controls for the application are as follows:

  68. Menus:
  69.  
  70. 1) File|Exit quits the demo
  71. 2) Option|detail toggles between high detail resolution and low detail
  72. resolution.

  74. Mouse & Keyboard:
  75.  
  76. 1) Holding the left mouse button down and pushing the mouse 'forward' (from
  77. the bottom of the mouse mat to the top of the mouse mat) will move your
  78. character forward.
  79.  
  80. 2) Holding the left mouse button down and pulling the mouse 'backward' (from
  81. the top of the mouse mat to the bottom of the mouse mat) will move your
  82. character backwards.

  84. 3) Holding the left mouse button down and moving the mouse 'right' (from the
  85. left of the mouse mat to the right of the mouse mat) will turn your character
  86. right.

  88. 4) Holding the left mouse button down and moving the mouse 'left' ( from the
  89. right of the mouse mat to the left of the mouse mat) will turn your character
  90. left.

  92. 5) When you are in the street you may fire the gun to shoot the rats. To do
  93. this hold down the right mouse button. The rats take 4 hits to be killed. They
  94. will only take a hit if their body is in the centre of the sight. The sight
  95. changes shape if the rat will be hit by a shot.

  97. 6) To fly around the street in 'demo' mode press 'F' (for fly). Just click on
  98. the mouse button to leave this mode.

  100. 7) Holding the left Shift key down and the left mouse button down, whilst
  101. moving the mouse will change the direction of view for your character.

  103. 8) Holding the left Ctrl (Control) key down and the left mouse button down,
  104. whilst moving the mouse forward or backward will raise or lower your
  105. character.

  107. 9) There is a secret room, which can be found by going through one of the
  108. doors.
