British Aerospace ATP
FILES:
BAATP___ = Aircraft Visual model
BAATP___.SIM = Aircraft Flight model
BA-ATP.TXT = This File
Produced by C J Reed, Uploaded by J Reed. CIS 100024/1623
These files are a modification of those i posted up back in the summer, the main
differences are the propellers (when engines are stopped) and improvements to the
undercarriage.
British Airways uses its 13 ATP's on its regional domestic routes, those I am
aware of are shown below. The flight model is a dampened down version of the Viscount 700
REF-SIM (uploaded by john kelley), since an ex-viscount pilot suggested that on the
basis of weight and power similarities, it would be an acceptable approximation.
The Slotted Fowler Flaps were a guess since I have no other sources but the 3 views,
and the current British Aerospace ad. The assumption being the markings on the wings were
flap drive housings.
It seems that the ATP flight model seems to settles on approach to about 115kts and lands
at about 105kts (with 3 stages of flap.) The only documentation I have available suggests
economy cruise at 18,000ft, 236kts.
