How about this tack for not pirating DOOM II - respect for ID.
You may not care about economic arguments for not pirating DOOM II.
You may not care about ethical arguments for not pirating DOOM II.
You may not care about legal arguments for not pirating DOOM II.
How about not pirating DOOM II out of respect for ID Software? That's
(mainly) why I deleted my copy. I respect these guys too much not to do
so.
