This is a very good analogy. Very good. Except for one thing, Id hasn't
lost any money yet. Hardware and Software have completely different
laws. If I say I'm going to pay for it, and I never had any intention of
paying for it, so I don't pay for it, Id isn't losing any money, because
I wasn't planning on sending them money anyway. The copy I pirated still
got paid for, so Id made some money. Unfortunatly, the copy of Doom2
going around wasn't paid for, so my analogy doesn't fit perfectly
either. In the end, why are you making analogies? Why not just tell me
one reason why what I'm doing is wrong, besides its against the law
(never had much respect for the law, anyway), and I'll happily delete
Doom2, and wait with the rest of you.
