OK-Now to set the record straight!
If someone shoots a barrel, and it explodes, anyone caught by the blast is
is injured by the blaster of the barrel, if anythign dies, the blaster is
credited with the kill
Also, if an enemy blows a barrel and said barrel injures he/it/?
then the injured enemy/ies attack the blaster of the barrel:
For example: SUICIDE.LMP -- Baron blows barrel, hurts himself, and then
attacks the creature that attacked the barrel:
namely, himself.....FUNNY!
E1M3--Fast, respawn, IDcheats: I was test playing my
hack to make 1.5 registered (it works too) and in
the end of E1M3, with the exit door and lotsa troopers
and imps..I killed the troopers, and an imp up at the
top shot one of the many barrels, injuring 2 nearby imps
Said imps promptly attack the first imp with fireballs
and because of -fast, they were too busy shooting fireballs to
walk up and claw him (which would hurt him) so they got caught up
in a three-way hurling battle (i dunno what made first imp go nut
sy, but he did) and I ran up and viewed them from all angles
For about 3 minutes, they kept it up, as projectiles do not damag
e similar species...then I BFGed the lot of em
OK...now to rockets:
Direct rocket hits are nothing more than extremely close range blast-
splashback...If a rocket blast kills or hurts ANYTHING, then the rocket's
owner is counted with the hit...including FRAGS!
Also, another note on rockets: A HUGE BUG!
In 1.5 (probably all Doom versions) the rocket's blast is NOT a sphere
of influence, as one is led to believe...it just seems like it becuase
there are relatively few instances for this to happen:
In my own modified LEDGES.WAD (it's better for altdeath, aplogy to author)
My friend and I were at the top, near the BFG elevator, but on the ledges
leading to slop/chaingun room...I fired a rocket at him, and it didn't guide
towards him...I said DOH! in chat mode and then was amazed to see it hit the
wall (big shock), so it blew up and I hear a scream...I was confused by this
as he had 100% health and 200% armor...then, pretty soon (this is FUNNY!)
he comes sliding up the steps and I see his head pop up for a second before
falling out of sight behind a step...We looked at this in our LMP (we love
makin recordings), and found out that my rocket hit directly ABOVE him, and I
mean DIRECTLY! The rocket was about 50-75 pixels higher, which should've
cause no damage if it was in x,y instead of z
TO MY POINT: Rockets are not a sphere of blast! It is more like a
Circular rectangle...The blast extends forever in the VERTICAL plane...

NOW! That is the EXACT and TOTAL and CORRECT scoop on blasts and their
effects....hope I've enlightened you
