I realize that Caspian just posted a request for players in the Houston (713)
area. If there is anyone still looking for an oppenent, I'm your man.
I just bought a 28.8 Hayes modem, and I've been trying different things with
it. I played modem doom with a friend of mine last night, and after I got the
init string right, it worked fine... The only thing is, it connected at 9600,
not 14.4. I'm going to change one of the init string codes that forces my
modem to 9600, to force it to 14.4 instead. Hopefully it will work.
I'm on a 486/33 (DX). I have some WADs, and _lots_ of DeHackEd patches.
I've only played one modem doom game, so I may not be much of a challenge for
humans (but I've had a lot of practice with the characters in the game...). :)
Email me back, and we can set a time to play, if you'd like to.
I'll probably be free much of today, and Monday. I don't have anything
planned. I have classes every day during the week (I go to U of H), and work
afterwards. I'm usually home by around 6:00. I could manage a game say between
8:00 and 10:30 at night on Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays
change but I usually have some time free that I could devote to a game...
I look forward to hearing from anyone interested,
Michael
