  21. Yea, but in this case you had the OWNERS PERMISSION to sit in the chair
  22. <like using shareware>. If you took it without permission, the owner has
  23. every right to charge you with theft and anyone you gave it to with
  24. possesion of stolen property. It really doesn't matter what your
  25. intentions are! ID has made it public that any copy of DOOM ][ that is
  26. now in use is pirated and illegel. They have asked that anyone having
  27. knowledge of these pirated copies notify the SPA. I think this makes it
  28. pretty clear. Not only do you not have the OWNERS PERMISSION, but the
  29. OWNER is asking you to call the cops <SPA> so legel action can be taken.

  40. What it boils down to is posession or use of pirated software is not
  41. only illegel but unethical. For those of you in colleges and
  42. universities reading this you already know the software is illegel which
  43. puts you in violation of the Code of Ethics you agreed to when you
  44. applied for school. And guess who the first sacrificial lambs will be if
  45. the SPA and it's auditing teams come knocking on your school's door?
  46. Between loosing a few students or paying a hefty fine guess who goes
  47. first. BTW, this is an open forum, the SPA can get names and school info
  48. right from email addresses of people posting possesion of DOOM ][.
