  16. That rumor has been floating around for several days...  It's a perfect
  17. opportunity for widespread damage on the fateful day it is set for
  18. detonation if true...  The way this thing is spreading, it would
  19. make the Morris Internet Virus/Worm look like the sniffles.  The only difference
  20. is that for the most part, this will affect the guilty rather than
  21. the innocent...

  23. Of course, places like CMU with their network full of Doom II will
  24. be SOL...  It'd be a real kick if the CERT machines got infected though...

  26. And who will they be able to prosecute?  ID certainly would not have put
  27. the virus in: the story I've heard is that some lamer magazine editor
  28. is the one who leaked it, but betting on a pirated copy being clean is kind 
  29. of like betting on Madonna's virginity...  The opportunity for widespread chaos
  30. is really big here...

  33. Two weeks of waitingis more than worth the trouble of restoring my hard
  34. drive, and I will laugh at anyone whose hard drive crashes in the event that the
  35. Doom II Virus is a reality...
