I got this DEHACKED patch this morning and have been playing DOOM with it
almost all day! It is an incredible patch that adds some totally new
gameplay to DOOM!
The delayed detonation of the grenades takes some getting used and
requires that you rethink how you play DOOM to best utilize this new
and incredibly fun weapon!
I haven't had this much fun playing DOOM in a long time! My most hardy
congratulations go to the author for producing such an ingenious and
enjoyable DOOM "patch"! Playing this patch reminds me of the thrill
I got for the first few weeks I played DOOM.
Get this patch!
And now for some nit picking:
I have tweeked this patch a bit to adapt it to my particular style,
here's what I changed:
Slowed down the pistol a bit. At the rate it was at in the gernade
patch it wasn't that much slower than the chaingun.
Increased the amount of bullets and shotgun shells I could hold.
Come on! 20 rounds max for each?? I up-ed the bullets to 100 and the
shotgun shells to 50. (I hate having to hunt around for ammo all the time)
Changed the bleedin walls back to the "puffs". The blood spurts are a
visual queue that you are hitting a monster, the puffs tell you you are
just hitting the wall. To have blood spurts no matter what you hit
eliminates this important feedback.
Other than these few minor things that I didn't quite like, this patch
is perfect!
Now, can someone merge the grenade patch with the doom_hoe patch?
Now THAT would be fun!!!!!
