Hi there. I have played regular doom under WFW 3.11, with hardly any
problems worth mentioning. However, I'm using a Pentium 90 with 32 Megs
of RAM. I'm not sure why it locks up on your system. In fact, since I
have a ps/2 type mouse, I run it under windows and that takes care of the
mouse problem. Some games don't run very well at all under Windows, like
Jazz the Jackrabbit (although this is mentioned in the program itself).
One interesting point about doom : do NOT allocate XMS to it, through a
pif file. Set the XMS to zero. I'm pretty sure since Doom uses a dos
extender it grabs its own memory, at least that seems to be the case from
my experiences....
