  22. I second this.  I recently bought a MaxStor 540MB drive that spins at
  23. 6300 RPM (most IDE drives spin at 4500) with an access time of 9ms
  24. (average is about 12ms) and WOW.  What a difference that made over my
  25. ESDI drive (which is slower then even average IDE drives).  I paid
  26. $US429.  The slower IDE drive at the same size by MaxStor was $388. So if
  27. you don't have a modern IDE drive, you might consider getting one.  If
  28. you want the fastest, ask for one that spins at 6300 RPM.  And don't
  29. forget to add the /SMS flag in the BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD line.
