  63. The copyright laws are to protect the revenue value of a product.  If anybody 
  64. who originates a product and places it in the public domain, i.e., Internet, 
  65. Public Access BBS's, Shareware floppies, a magazine, then that person or 
  66. corporation cannot attempt to block distribution of that product simply because 
  67. it now appears on a CD-ROM.

  69. If however, somebody wrote a .WAD and was selling it, using the Internet to 
  70. send it to customers and somebody else posted in the public domain.  Then the 
  71. originator has cause for dispute.

  73. When you show me a .WAD CD-ROM or sales of a .MOD that appears on my CD-ROM by 
  74. the originator or an agent thereof, then I will remove the .MOD, and the .WAD 
  75. author may have cause for dispute with the WAD CD-ROM author.

  77. BTW, I have it in writing from very nearly all the .MOD authors for all the 
  78. music on my CD-ROM  "MegaMODMadNess".  Those who sent me their signed authorizations 
  79. will get a FREE CD-ROM at the very least.  But, having that permission means I 
  80. can sell this CD-ROM in bundle projects for U.S.$0.50 ea. and maybe make enough 
  81. money to send to the authors too!  This is the plan.

  83. Although there may be many CD-ROM author's out there who simply pocket the money,
  84. I can't help but think that $10 - $40 CD-ROM's are not making anybody rich anyway.

  86. If you have a larger CD-ROM factory like Walnut Creek CD-ROM, full of shareware 
  87. taken from the Internet and other places, I can see them making a nice living 
  88. and expanding, but for the amount of competition - other's are making better 
  89. shareware CD-ROM's now-and-again so Walnut Creek is not getting so rich either.

  91. By expanding their catalog and advertising I expect Walnut Creek CD-ROM to eventually 
  92. make it big-time, but this may take a few more years.

  94. I hope I may follow a little bit smaller with my two CD-ROM's ("10,000 Sounds & Songs"
  95. of the Digital Data Archives vol.0 and "MegaMODMadNess" vol.1 of the Digital Data 
  96. Archives.)

  98. Ya'll should be glad I still haven't produced an Audio CD-ROM of me play'n guitar
  99. and sing'n.
