Intel said they are `revaluating the 786 plan'. In other words, 686
is probably the last x86 strand you'll ever see. Sure there are a
CPU in the pipline which is going to be x86 compatible. Most likely
a "simple instruction hardwired, complex instruction emulated" x86
CPU. Otherwords a RISC alike. Does this sound familiar ;).
