Sorry, but I must disagree again. The copyright act contains both criminal
and civil provisions - nor are the civil provisions limited to "actual
damages", as the Act specifically provides for "statutory damages." I
believe that the Act sets this as $500-$2000 per infringement, but I am not
at all sure of these figures. Again, check the copyright FAQ.
By the way, if the copyright is registered with the government, I believe
that attorneys' fees may also be awarded. Sorry to sound like a broken
record, but.... check the copyright FAQ. If I can dig up a copy I will post
it.
PLEASE - there is already so much misinformation out there about the
copyright law as it is. Before you post information about copyright law...
well, you know... ;-)
