  12. OK people.  I want to start getting ready to bring infant2 back up and on
  13. line.  I got a mail message today that made a good point.  Basically the
  14. person suggested tnat there will be a mad uploading frenzy onto infant2
  15. when it comes back up.  I would -really- like to avoid this.  So, here
  16. is the scoop, and -PLEASE- read all of it:

  18. 1.  I will accept uploads to my personal workstation through anon ftp:

  20.     mimosa.astro.indiana.edu:/incoming
  21.  
  22.     Please upload anything you want put onto infant2 into this directory.
  23.     Treat it just is if this is the incoming directory for infant2.  I will
  24.     make all these files avaliable to Barry to sort and deal with so he
  25.     will not be swamped in the weeks to come.

  27. 2.  THE FILES THAT ARE UPLOADED WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE READ.  THIS MEANS
  28.     YOU CAN NOT _I REPEAT_ NOT DOWNLOAD THESE FILES.  THERE IS NO POINT IN
  29.     CONNECTING TO MIMOSA TO GET NEW WAD FILES.  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO
  30.     IT SO DON'T EVEN TRY.

  32. 3.  If you know someone else who uploads files to infant2 on a regular basis,
  33.     tell them about this setup.  I want the news to spread quickly.  Let's
  34.     get our network working for us.

  36. 4.  Obey all rules about uploading to infant2, esp about putting a .txt file
  37.     and using MSDOS file names.

  39. There.  Sorry to shout, but I don't want my machine to be swamped with people
  40. downloading files.  I have real work to do.
