  19. That is _NOT_ waht you said.  You said that it was only _ILLEGAL_ if you made 
  20. a profit off of it.  You _DID_NOT_ state anything about right and wrong.  Only

  25. That's not the point.  The point was whether orr not it was legal.  The 
  26. reason  most people do not get into trouble for taping friends albums is that 
  27. 1: most record companies do not have enough money to _bother_ with chasing 
  28. after such small fry, and 2: they lack Probable Cause (if you are not selling 
  29. lots of copies they are not aware that you are doing it, so they never know).

  33. No you are not.  There is nothingh "grey" about it.  It is a matter of the 
  34. cost of prosocution VS hopeful returns from the suits.  Small fry like cheap 
  35. kids taping friends albums are not costing them enouigh money for them to 
  36. worry about it too much (but they did manage to put the hurt on audio DAT 
  37. machines).

  43. Why is it wrong?  Is it wrong to protect the work you created from people who 
  44. would take it and pay you nothing in return?  Answer me this: If you created 
  45. something (a book, album, computer program) that you thought was really good, 
  46. or thought that people might be willing to pay money to use/read/listen to, 
  47. would it be wrong for you to make sure that you recieved payments for all the 
  48. copies that people were using?  What if creating said items was how you earned 
  49. your money to feed yourself and your family?

  80. This is true, but it is not the point!  You stated (and I repeat myself at 
  81. the risk of sounding like a broken record) that is was only _illegal_ if you 
  82. made money on it.  You are wrong.  No amount of bullshit will change that.

  84. no remorse about stealing software and audio recordings it is still illegal.
