I don't think any of the wad editors are particularly *easy* to use but
some are easier than others. I've recently started using DOOMCAD and it's
not bad. It's got a tutorial that can get you through a fair amount of the
weird stuff and it's windows based so it's easier to pick up on than say
DEU but I haven't looked at some of the other DOS based iditors and I
think some of them focus on ease of use a little more than DEU does.
But to answer your question yes there are several editors out there and
you can get them at any of the infant2 mirror sites. The ones I know of
are:
ftp.uni-erlangen.de
ftp.cdrom.com
ftp.luth.se
aurora.bld189.jccbi.gov
ftp.iglou.com
Try them. You will want to look in the wad_edit/editors directories.
DOOMCAD is called someting like dmcad43.zip. It's shareware and costs $15
if you decide to keep it. I'm still deciding myself.
