I have witnessed several group splits now, among them comp.sys.ibm.pc.games .
The proposal of better subject lines, just the way you guys described it,
is made before *EVERY* group split. The problem is: it doesn't work.
Especially on a games newsgroup, which is more frequently used by newbies
or people who are not that familiar with Usenet policies, compared to e.g.
a Linux newsgroup (the more complicated the topic, the more educated the
postings), chances are high that people just won't adopt this scheme. I
like the idea myself, but it really doesn't work.
Lukas.
