thanks for mailing me, because I don't have access to alt.games.doom!
Now about your problems: some things are not (yet?) possible in Doom.
One of these is changing the invisibility of an object, so it is some-
times visible and sometimes not. I did the Predator graphics just to
get the feeling, but then continued just changing the imp so it would
look like a predator when invisible. The visible dead Predator is needed,
because in E2M9 there are dead Cacodemons lying around. The only way
to make the Predator visible at least when dead is using the trick
turning clip/shotgun to Facehugger/new T800 if there was another monster
dropping an object when dying. Maybe this will be possible in Doom II!
Sorry about the Alien deathscene, I'll check if I missed some graphics.
As for the 'jumbling', this is very important in combination with the
dehacked file! At the moment the Alien dies, it changes into a cacodemon
firing an invisible fireball. This way, the acid will hurt you if you kill
it from close range (for example with the chainsaw)!
I'll think about including the 'raw' graphics into the next version, but
just replacing the graphics with dmgraph will not change the monster
characteristics that are more important to me. Additional, the graphics
will be jumbled as you said. Maybe you think about distributing the
different monsters seperate?
The next version (availiable soon) will hopefully fix the Alien deathscene
bug, but because of the sound, the Facehugger graphics will need to be
jumbled as well to remove the pistol sound when attacking.
