the following is a copy of a post I made a while ago to the 3dbench
thread it may be of interest.
mine is a rockbottom bargain basement (by Aussie standards)
486 sx33 no cach 1mb VLB cirrus logic 5426
which produced a 3dbench rating of 24 under windows 3.1 and 20.2 after
optomizing my mem for dos (ach!!).
Under Dos with a clean boot I got 26.3. Which isn't bad for what it is.
Taking memory up to 8Meg made a hughe difference to how well doom played.
It still has problems with big Pwads and the upper levels when I'm networked
Before Michaels post the only faster 33 machine I have seen posted was a
Dell and that was 26.7
Most 33's with out flash cards seem to hang around 19-20 mark.
