can't really blame doom. i've got a 1meg rev 2.2 GUS, and the only negative
things i've found with the sounds in doom 1.6 is that it sounds a bit
'scratchy' compared to 1.2. everything else seems to have been improved
tho. with 8 simultaneous sounds, there's absolutely *no* slowdown in
the game (doom <= 1.2 did cause some slowdowns with >4 sounds, probably
due to all that DMA'ing); and best of all, Doom doesn't CRASH any more!!!
yay! :-) at least on me system. :)
used to have me system hang and the guy goes spinning out of control
when a lot of things are happening on screen. yay yay yay..
