  25. can't really blame doom. i've got a 1meg rev 2.2 GUS, and the only negative 
  26. things i've found with the sounds in doom 1.6 is that it sounds a bit
  27. 'scratchy' compared to 1.2. everything else seems to have been improved
  28. tho. with 8 simultaneous sounds, there's absolutely *no* slowdown in
  29. the game (doom <= 1.2 did cause some slowdowns with >4 sounds, probably
  30. due to all that DMA'ing); and best of all, Doom doesn't CRASH any more!!!
  31. yay! :-) at least on me system. :)
  32. used to have me system hang and the guy goes spinning out of control
  33. when a lot of things are happening on screen. yay yay yay..
