  13.     I'm just letting everyone know that the 1.6beta has been released.
  14. I picked it up from cs.uwp.edu under /pub/games/id/doom16bt.zip.  The text
  15. file included with it was written by John Romero and says the following:

  17.     This should be the final sound code revision.  We fixed some small
  18. bugs, but the major problem was the sound code.  Any problems that you have,
  19. please direct them to help@idsoftware.com.  Do it soon as we are anxious to
  20. release the patches for the shareware & registered versions -- BUT ONLY IF
  21. THE SOUND CODE IS SOLID.
