  19. I do that. I have a "footpad" I use with my Gravis Gamepad. This way I 
  20. can do all things at once: move, strafe, shoot, and run. I have right 
  21. foot=run, and left foot=strafe. (Right=run=accelerator pedal...of course!)

  23. The disadvantage I have relative to mouse users is their ability to turn 
  24. at different speeds, and fine control. On the other hand, this hardware 
  25. hack puts me on par with keyboard users - and I get to continue to use my 
  26. gamepad, which I like the "gameplay" with. Using the mouse just doesn't 
  27. seem "right" to me. That's why there's probably a resistance to using it 
  28. for many people. I think I'm pretty darn good with this set-up, but 
  29. you'll not get any arguments from me about the advantages of using a 
  30. mouse. I just don't think that it's as much fun.
