Hi all,
I'm looking for the cheapest way to get stereo sound in Doom... I
currently have an old SB that I got about four years ago when Adlib
was the standard... I'm not really looking for something with
significantly better sound... I just don't want to be at a
disadvantage against stereo-equiped foes in deathmatch...
I guess a reasonable question to ask would be, is the advantage really
all that significant? (Enough to give a player an edge, all else being
equal?)
And, out of curiosity, does playing WITH sound give an advantage over
playing WITHOUT sound (assume headphones, or distance, to prevent
using the other person's sounds to you advantage... the auditory
equivalent of peaking over someone's shoulder)?
