This is actually becomming more popular. Many programs, including the latest
version of our morphing software, include two versions (if not three), one
compiled without -mips2, and one compiled with it. R3000s are still out there,
but the R4000 is by far the most-used - you can't buy an Indy without
something that supports the R4K instruction set. It makes sense to use the
flag, which enables some very nice FPU optimizations (in our case).
Incidentally, my R4K Indigo out-performs our R4K Indy (PC) - so I suppose
the cache makes a big difference when using zoom.
