"Cheap" frags? That statement has as its unstated premise that there is
some code of ethics involved in DEATHMATCH. Sorry to disappoint you, but
DEATHMATCH is a no-holds-barred street fight. You get a frag any way the
game will allow you, and your opponent does the same. You try and play
most people with some unspoken "code of honor" and you'll end up a nice
honorable martyr with a consistently low frag count.

Having played against Woody also, I can assure you that he is more than
willing to take what you call "cheap frags," and he's man enough not to
complain when someone frags him that way.

Now that's ridiculous. You're implying that somehow E1M1 was stacked in
Jay's favor, that is allowed him to rack up a large number of so-called
"cheap" frags. How totally absurd!! The fact of the matter is, no matter
how "unbalanced" the level may be in terms of weapons placement, both
players still have equal opportunity in every respect. It's what they do
with that opportunity which shows off their skill.
OK, Mr. Armchair Space Marine, suppose you tell us what level to use so
as to provide a "true" test of DEATHMATCH skill?

Agreed. However, Woody and the other keyboarders were also guilty of
under-estimating mousers. He made the statement publicly in this very
newsgroup that he would take out any mouser anytime. I think since he
has played Jay (and to a lesser extent myself) Woody has reached a new
appreciation for the skills of a good mouser. I know I look forward to
playing him again.
