  34.   I won't pretend to know the _most_ effective memory setup.  However,
  35. I as well have only 4mb of RAM and here's what seems to work for me:

  37.   - Don't load any memory managers.  That means remove any
  38.     DEVICE = \DOS\FILLINDABLANK.EXE or .SYS in your \config.sys file.
  39.     This includes DEVICEHIGH = lines.
  40.  
  41.   - In config.sys, load dos low.  Accomplished w/ this line:
  42.     DOS = LOW
  43.     (real tough)

  45.   That's is really.  Just strip everything non-essential out, and load
  46. dos low (synopsis).  Again, my disclaimer is: I am no DOS guru. *8)

  50.   P.S.  I'm assuming your friend knows to make backups of their
  51. config.sys and autoexec.bat files before tweaking.  If your friend
  52. still needs help, go ahead and email me and I'll try to give you
  53. as explicit instructions as I can.
