Well, as is usually the case, this chain will only be as strong as its
weakest link. I have played modem games that were DAMN close to the
max speed of the game, and I have played network games that SUCKED!!
Just saying that the e-net is 10Mbps so is naturally faster is flawed
logic. First, there is no e-net out there that can actually transfer
that rate of information since its efficiency falls off drastically
when it get saturated ( > 90% utilization). Second, 9600 baud is enough
(or close) to transfer the information that Doom is passing, if everything
else is working well. So, this is not a question that can be answered
in black and white. Rule of thumb: network play is faster (a lot).
