Before installing this update check the program release of
WordPerfect if you have installed any applications from
Corel WordPerfect Suite 7. The release number can be
checked by going into WordPerfect and selecting Help and
then about Corel WordPerfect. If your program release is
7.0.0.19 you may want to contact orders to receive an
updated version of the program. This update for
InfoCentral will change some program code that effects
Suite applications, in particular it causes problems if it
becomes necessary to reinstall any of the applications from
the original CD.
The following error will appear if reinstalling from the
original CD after installing InfoCentral from this update:
"Archive Location Wanted: Please specify the location of
the following archive <filename>.ini." This is followed by a
path name, usually:
C:\COREL\OFFICE7\APPMAN\SETUP. The following
options have been helpful in allowing customers to continue
their reinstallation if they have already run the update:
1. Remove \SETUP from the path listed in the error
message and click OK, sometimes this will allow you to
continue.
2. Manually copy the COREL\OFFICE7\APPMAN
directory from the CD to the hard drive and then restart the
installation.
3. Remove
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\COREL\APPM
AN from the Windows 95 registry, rename the NAM.IP file
in the COREL\OFFICE7\APPMAN\PROFILE directory on
the hard drive. Restart the Corel Suite 7 Installation.
(Backup the Windows 95 registry prior to making these
changes. Refer to Windows 95 online help for instructions
on backing up the registry.)
4. Uninstall InfoCentral and the Suite programs, run the
CLEANREG.EXE utility found on the Corel FTP site and
then reinstall the Suite first and then InfoCentral.
CLEANREG.EXE can be found at the following URL
ftp://bbs.corelus.com/wp7suite.
5. Contact orders to get the most recent release of the of
the Suite 7 CD.
If none of the above steps allow the installation of the Suite
7 to continue, please contact Corel Technical Support for
further help.
