  1. OS/2 V2 Installation problems on non-IBM systems
  2. ================================================

  4. If you encounter problems installing or booting OS/2 Version 2 on
  5. non-IBM systems, this fix may help.
  6.  
  7. Download OS2V2OEM.EXE and run it. It will expand to:-
  8. IBM1S506.ADD
  9. OS2DASD.DMD
  10.  
  11. IF OS/2 V2 installation ran OK but errors occur on rebooting:-
  12.  
  13.    Copy these two files to the \OS2 subdirectory of your boot drive.
  14.    Do this by booting a DOS diskette if the target drive is FAT,
  15.    or the OS/2 Installation diskette then diskette #1, and pressing
  16.    ESC to get a command prompt, if the target is HPFS.

  18. IF OS/2 V2 failed to install at all:
  19.  
  20.    - Make a backup of diskette #1
  21.    - Copy OS2DASD.DMD to both the Installation diskette and
  22.      diskette #1 backup.
  23.    - copy OS2DASD.DMD and IBM1S506.ADD to diskette #1 backup.
  24.    - try reinstalling again.
