  11. 32-bit OS/2 display drivers installation
  12. ----------------------------------------

  14. .The drivers are for OS/2 2.0 Service Pack (with 32-bit GRE) only
  15.  
  16. .This package contains 256 color drivers only

  18. .Seamless support for WinOS2 is not available with this release

  21. .Installation procedures
  22.  
  23.         1. Boot DOS or from a floppy drive
  24. SBW *** You can use an OS/2 boot floppy for all but generating the new .PMI file ***

  26.         2. Backup:      \OS2\SVGA.EXE
  27.                             \OS2\MDOS\VSVGA.SYS
  28.                             \OS2\DLL\BVHSVGA.DLL
  29.     SBW      ***\OS2\DLL\IBMVGA32.DLL**
  30.                             \OS2\DLL\IBMDEV32.DLL
  31.                             \OS2\DLL\*.FON

  33.         3. Substitute the SVGA.EXE, [VSVGA.SYS ***(DON'T!)***] and BVHSVGA.DLL [SBW     *** and IBMVGA32.DLL ***] by the new files in this package.

  35.     SBW   ***DO NOT REPLACE THE VSVGA.SYS!  I have renamed this file XVSVGA.SYS***
  36.       ***don't use it! ****
  37.     SBW   ***DO REPLACE THE IBMVGA32.DLL***

  39.         4. To install different resolution display drivers, replace
  40.            the IBMDEV32.DLL by one of the files in \SVGA480,
  41.            \SVGA600 or \SVGA768, which are 640x480, 800x600 and
  42.            1024x768 respectively.

  44.         5. Copy the new fonts in the FONTS sub-directory to OS/2
  45.            \OS2\DLL sub-directory.  I.e., copy COURBGA.FON over
  46.            COURIER.FON; copy TIMESBGA.FON over TIMES.FON; copy
  47.            HELVBGA.FON over HELV.FON
  48.  
  49. SBW *** OR you can run the "install.cmd" file which will install the fonts to     C:\OS2\DLL\*.FON. ***

  51.         6. Generate the .PMI file by running
  52.                 SVGA ON DOS
  53.            Then rename the SVGADATA.DOS to SVGADATA.PMI.

  55.         7. Reboot the machine with OS/2
