- After already talking to Jukka via E-Mail I have switched also to
- -current and am running sup to keep up-to-date... (so far, I haven't
- managed to compile it, though - meaning I am still running his kernel)
-
- I sort of know why it doesn't boot now... apparently, my machine
- responds funny when being probed for PAL. When I configured my own
- kernel I uncommented the GRF_PAL option (oh, and all the other graphics
- cards which I don't have :), and the kernel booted up (almost) every
- single time. (Almost meaning it boots about 9 out of 10 times)
-
- My hardware (stock 25Mhz A3000, 8meg fast, 1meg chip, no frills) is
- strange, anyways: I got it with 2megs, but when I tried moving the
- 1meg fast into the sockets for chip (the chips were the same as the
- ones soldered on the motherboard) the video went completely haywire...
- To this day, I got 1meg of 256kx4 DIP chips sitting on my shelf...
-
- Anyways, I hope that soon I can compile my own -current kernel and my
- troubles will be over (YEAH, RIGHT!) :)
