- I have a problem installing NetBSD 1.1
-
- IN a few words, one of the files of the base11.** archive must be
- corrupted, because, issuing the command "Extract base11" or doing
- by hand a "cat base11.?? | gunzip | tar -xfp -" I obtain the same
- error code (tar: skipping to next file header....") and the
- base11 unpacking stops. If I cat the files and gunzip the archive
- gunzip exits with this error "format violation".
-
- Now, this is what CKSUMS file is for. The problem is that on my
- Sun host nor on my amiga I can find a cksum command or function.
-
- And, since redownloading all of the base11 files would be terribly
- slow and tiring (ppp connection with a 14400 modem) I would rather
- prefer to find the corrupted file and replace it.
-
- Can someone point me where I can find a C source for the function cksum
- uses to perform the checksum computation? Or (better) is there a
- command to compute CKSUMS under AmigaDOS?
-
- Thank you in advance.
