- I had the same problem, I already had 1.0 installed so my solution was
- to download the 1.1 kernel source and re-compile a kernel without the
- Picasso driver. If you have not got 1.0 then you could try temporarily
- removing your Picasso card, install 1.1, re-build the kernel then
- re-install the Picasso. I could mail you my kernel for an A3000T if
- you are desperate but it is a 730K binary.
-
- What I would really like to do is find out what the problem is with
- Picasso cards, some people have no problems with them but others get
- a blank screen. Either there is more than one version of the Picasso
- out there or there is some subtle interaction with other components
- of the system which stops the card working in some instances. From
- my own experiments, I am fairly confident that the card is being
- recognised and the scan modes are being set but something is stopping
- the text/images from being seen.
-
- My Picasso details are below, I would be interested in hearing what
- verion of the board/chip is being used by anyone who has NetBSD 1.1
- working successfully with a Picasso-II.
-
- Board: Picasso II
- RAM: 2MB
- Version: 1.4 (etched onto edge of board near Zorro connector)
- Cirrus chip: CL-GD5426-80QC-A
- Jumpers: JP301 - open
- JP401 - lower 2 pins jumpered (nearest Zorro bus)
- JP402 - open
