  13.   I recently upgraded to Linux/m68k 1.2.13pl4 (from 1.2.13pl3).  My
  14. system is a 25MHz Amiga A3000 with two SCSI drives, 2M CHIP, 4M FAST, no
  15. accelerators, no expansion boards, and no video card (ie. just ECS
  16. video).  Ever since I upgraded I have been having two recurring
  17. problems.

  19. The first problem is mostly just annoying.  Sometimes after booting
  20. one of the virtual consoles will be in reverse video (while all the
  21. rest are in normal video).

  23. The second problem is much more serious (for me anyway).  The serial
  24. driver seems to be losing characters somewhere.  It is fairly
  25. infrequent.  I never notice it while just typing, but when downloading
  26. files using kermit 190 about 5% of the packets cause errors.  It is
  27. almost impossible to download anything larger than about 256k as there
  28. is invariably a serious enough problem that the two kermits get out of
  29. sync and are unable to recover.  I never had this problem with
  30. 1.2.13pl3, and I currently have no problems downloading under
  31. AmigaDOS, so I am relatively sure that the problem is not the hardware
  32. (serial port electronics, modem, cable, phone line, etc.) or the
  33. computer on the other end.

  35.   My questions are: has anyone else seen these problems?  If so, is
  36. there a fix/patch/work around/whatever for either of them?  If not I
  37. guess I'll start hacking away at the serial I/O problem myself.
