- Hello all,
-
- I recently upgraded to Linux/m68k 1.2.13pl4 (from 1.2.13pl3). My
- system is a 25MHz Amiga A3000 with two SCSI drives, 2M CHIP, 4M FAST, no
- accelerators, no expansion boards, and no video card (ie. just ECS
- video). Ever since I upgraded I have been having two recurring
- problems.
-
- The first problem is mostly just annoying. Sometimes after booting
- one of the virtual consoles will be in reverse video (while all the
- rest are in normal video).
-
- The second problem is much more serious (for me anyway). The serial
- driver seems to be losing characters somewhere. It is fairly
- infrequent. I never notice it while just typing, but when downloading
- files using kermit 190 about 5% of the packets cause errors. It is
- almost impossible to download anything larger than about 256k as there
- is invariably a serious enough problem that the two kermits get out of
- sync and are unable to recover. I never had this problem with
- 1.2.13pl3, and I currently have no problems downloading under
- AmigaDOS, so I am relatively sure that the problem is not the hardware
- (serial port electronics, modem, cable, phone line, etc.) or the
- computer on the other end.
-
- My questions are: has anyone else seen these problems? If so, is
- there a fix/patch/work around/whatever for either of them? If not I
- guess I'll start hacking away at the serial I/O problem myself.
- Thanks in advance for any help or information.
-
- Cheers
- Leland
