  22. I think he was talking about the marketability of the OS, not the 
  23. applications.  The example of Linux rather seems to confirm this more than
  24. contradict it.  Perhaps Ritchie (or whoever said it) was even speaking of
  25. the original UNIX and its direct heritage, as opposed to the many workalikes
  26. that exist today.
