- While in college, my roommate and I put together a couple of quite long
- "dumb" null modem cables. What I mean by that is they were only three wires
- (transmit, receive and ground) with no hardware handshaking wires in them.
- One of them was 100 feet long and we could achieve 115,200 baud with it. The
- other one was 250 feet long and, because of it's length, we had to lower the
- baud rate to 57,600. Quite good for such a long cable!
