- Erm, Fabio, I take it you are joking here? If not, may I be so bold as to
- suggest that you take a copy of Andrew Tannenbaum's seminal text on
- computer operating systems, "Operating Systems: Design and Implementation"
- to bed with you tonight, and pay particular attention to the sections
- on memory protection and virtual memory? ;-)

- I agree with you here, the real issue is standards and whether they
- are a good thing or not. It all depends a great deal on the iplemention
- and nature of a standard. The ideal standard (IMHO) is initially good,
- open, and allows a great deal of future expansion, but unfortunately
- those imposed by the likes of Microsoft are none of the above. A
- standard can either liberate you or put you in bonds...
