  15.     for those of you who have seen something about this, and those of you who haven't, 
  16. check out this site:

  20.     Basically, it provides a multi-platform Windows development environment.  Currently they 
  21. have UNIX, Macintosh, NetWare, and OS/2 binaries.  However - they are distributing source!!!  For 
  22. free!!!  Obviously, for personal/noncommercial uses.  They have a GNU version available.  But I 
  23. guess what the coolest thing about this is:

  25.     It allows one to run Windows binaries on a non-Windows system.  That's right, Intel, 
  26. Windows binaries on other machines.  It handles DLLs, VbXs, etc.  It is completely full featured.  
  27. Microsoft is up in arms over it.
  28.  
  29.     What I propose is this.  Start a team - get the source, and port it to AmigaOS/Workbench. 
  30.  If they already have it so it will run on so many other platforms, it must be possible!  I'm not saying it 
  31. won't take an Amiga with something under the hood (o3o+882, 8 or 16MB RAM min + HD) - but I 
  32. think it's possible.  Either that or pressure the company to release a binary version for the Amiga - 
  33. they are open to suggestions...  And, as they are a European company, it shouldn't be hard to 
  34. convince them - the Amiga has a somewhat larger presence over there.

  36.     Talk to AT, get them to liscence it.  I know, I know, we want to stay Amiga - but just think, 
  37. what idiot would stick with an Intel DOS/Windows combo when they could get all that, and what 
  38. the Amiga offers?  I'm thinking ahead to the PowerAmiga...  ShapeShifter, this, and AmigaDOS.  
  39. Who would want anything else?
