- no! I use MWB.... i dont want ANY future Amiga to FORCE a icon
- interface/colour scheme onto us - just keep the standard one and allow
- an easier replacement program.
- -------
-
- This is a common misunderstanding about NewIcons. the "NewIcons patch" is not a
- forcible color scheme or icon set, MagicWB is. What NewIcons is, is a system of
- flexible dynamic pen mapping icons that will display correctly on anyone's system
- no matter their graphics capability or number of colors on the WB. Yes this needs to
- be implemented.
-
- The icon set included with NewIcons, and colors chose, are simply a standard set by one artist
- that follow a common theme, just as MagicWB is.
-
- The problem is that with MagicWB, you need to set certain colors in a certain way, and
- these icons look terrible on a system with few colors, or the colors set wrong. NewIcons
- remap colors like Multiview does. This will probably be implemented in the future -
- colors need to be saved with icons, and the icons remapped to the proper color scheme.
- That way you can have nice icons, and they look right even if I choose to have color 7 be orange on my
- system or whatever.
-
- People that argue against NewIcons are arguing against the icons themselves, which is not
- the feature that the users of NewIcons are plugging it for. The icons themselves are and
- should be the users choice; the remapping and palette storage should be built into the OS.
